Whether you’ve lived in the Norwood area all your life, or just got here yesterday. Whether you plan to stay a long time, or are a student at one of Norwood’s nearby universities. Whether you are passing through on vacation or need a place to stop a while and rest.
We are a congregation rooted in the United Church of Christ and the United Methodist Church traditions, welcoming people of all traditions to worship, to serve, and to grow.
We seek to embody the beloved community in Norwood and the surrounding area.
Together we are dedicated to helping you explore and grow in spirit. In a time when things seem to be falling apart, we aim to integrate knowledge, experience, faith, tradition and community.
We seek to be a community open to asking hard questions that have no easy answers, to be an encouraging place to discover how you can find meaning in service to others, to be a healing presence for the downcast and brokenhearted.
Nestled in the village of Norwood, NY under the Pastoral leadership of the Rev. Caspar Green, we welcome you to worship on Sunday mornings and to be with us in community, learning and service at other times throughout the week.
United in Faith
Worship is at the heart of all we do. Children’s church activities are available during the worship hour, so all ages can be included. Communion open to all celebrated on the first Sunday of each month. We are not perfect, but we aim to be
inspired by Scripture, rooted in tradition, and relevant to today’s world.
United in Service
Because faith isn’t just a private matter, we are active in service to our community in a wide variety of ways:
- We host community meals for mission and fellowship.
- We extend caring to the elderly and home-bound.
- We lend financial and volunteer support to area community organizations such as Renewal House, Habitat for Humanity, Helping Hands and more.
- We are ecumenical partners in community celebrations for Thanksgiving and Lenten Luncheons, World Day of Prayer and other occasions.
United in Supporting the Community
We are blessed with two buildings in the Village of Norwood. Both are active worship and mission centers, and we do what we can to make sure that they are assets and blessings to the community, hosting a variety of community organizations and activities. Currently, these include:
- The Norwood Norfolk Raymondville Outreach Food Pantry.
- The Norwood Railroad Club, and
- The Golden Agers.
